Children do not always know how to put their feelings into words — especially when they feel afraid, left out, confused, or in need of comfort. These short prayers for children teach kids to pray and help them bring everyday experiences to God.
Written in a child’s voice, they give children a simple way to read, reflect, and respond.
Prayer becomes something natural — not something distant or formal.
What's inside: A collection of 16 bedtime prayers for children, each with a matching coloring page, covering the moments children actually face: bedtime fears, a lost pet, friendship trouble, gratitude for grandparents, rainy-day disappointment, and feeling left out.

Trish is a lifelong follower of Jesus. Prayer has been her quiet place since childhood.
As an adult, she walked through seasons that could have caused anyone to question whether God was near. She survived a head-on collision that cost her a year of her career. She lost her first husband to cancer, later remarried, and then lost her second husband as well.
Over the years, she also endured dozens of surgeries and has lived wheelchair-bound and alone for more than a decade.
Through every season, Trish relied on God to carry her through.
These Children’s Prayer Poems grew out of that lived faith. They were written to help young hearts find comfort, courage, and peace in the Lord—especially when they feel afraid, uncertain, or in need of reassurance.
These poems are not just written — they are lived. And now, they are being shared so other children can find that same comfort.
This poem is one children return to most — especially at bedtime, when fears feel biggest.
“He Never Sleeps”
When the world is slumbering sound
And no one seems to be around
You lie awake upon your bed
While worries churn inside your head.
There’s One who never sleeps at all
Who waits and listens for your call.
You know His name, I’m sure you do
It’s Jesus Christ, of course, you knew.
He’s there to calm your night-time fright
And keep you safe ‘till morning’s light.
So leave your cares with Him, my dear
Sleep well, goodnight, and have no fear.

Each poem is paired with a matching coloring page so children can read, reflect, engage, and respond creatively.
“A Prayer for Twinkie”
A little girl prays when her beloved cat goes missing. It’s one of Trish’s most loved poems.
First four lines ...
Oh dearest God there’s something wrong
My little cat is not around.
She’s got this bright orange, fuzzy fur
And oh, the softest kitty purr.
... Last four lines:
I’ll go and look now one more time
From out the window that is mine.
Oh yes! It’s true, for I can see
She’s looking in right back at me!
